Essential oils are a very useful ingredient in masks of various purposes, such as cleansing, nourishment, moisturization, and rejuvenation.
We have identified some of the most effective facial masks containing essential oils.
A cleansing and nourishing mask for normal or sensitive skin
To make the mask, you will need Herculean broth, a fruit puree (any fruit), a little bit of honey, and 1 egg yolk. To create an additional cleansing effect, add a little bit of soap foam.
With this mask, you can add the following essential oils: 2 drops of orange oil, 2 drops of spruce oil, 3 drops of myrtle oil, 4 drops of rosewood oil, and 1 drop of verbena oil. Make sure to mix everything together very well.
A nourishing mask for dry and sensitive skin
To make this mask, you will need mashed potatoes and natural yogurt or sour cream (or kefir). You will also need a base of buckwheat flour with a few drops of wheat germ oil and jojoba oil mixed in. The other essential oils needed will be: 3 drops of lavender oil, 3 drops of geranium oil, 4 drops of chamomile oil, 2 drops of patchouli oil, and 1 drop of rose oil. Everything should be mixed extremely well and applied to the face.
A mask for oily skin
This mask will target the biggest problems of oil skin, the sebaceous glands. It will also help to narrow enlarged pores. For this mask, you simply need whisked egg whites and a few drops of any essential oil of your choice. Apply this mask to your face for 20 minutes and then rinse with warm water. If you want an additional effect, before applying the mask, make a steam bath with an essential oil mixture of pine oil, lavender oil, sage oil, or tea tree oil. This will open the pores, allowing for more cleansing.
A nourishing mask for any skin type
To make this mask, you will need honey, a fruit puree (any fruit), cosmetic clay, boiled corn, oatmeal or buckwheat flakes, and 1 egg yolk. You will need the following essential oils, 4 drops of neroli oil, 4 drops of mint oil, 4 drops of rosewood oil, 3 drops of orange oil, 2 drops of rose oil, and 2 drops of verbena oil.
Masks should be done as part of a regimen and not just one every once and a while. You should do 1 or 2 a week, for a few weeks. You should also properly moisturize your face with cream after these masks. If you are prone to breakouts of acne and pimples, it is recommended to cycle through different masks using steam baths with essential oils, soap foam, and cosmetic clay.
